Today my group, along with the rest of the other groups, went to our classroom to meet up with Mr Charles to get some advice from him. We showed him our trailer and then our video documentary. He said that we should either volume up the narration or volume down the backing soundtrack. We also can try experimenting with the contrast between sound and silence, as to create suspense. He then gave us examples of what kind of stuff scares him (as he isn't a person who is frightened easily), for example the projector scene from It. He also mentioned that we should record the narration again, because Teresa's tone isn't goosebumps-worthy enough.
Mikado Avocado will have to meet up at Teresa's house next Thursday again to re-record some scenes, as well as film some new clips.
Our to-do list:
- clock ticking
- shaking camerawork
- check narration
- hallway footsteps stuff
- soft whispers
- ending clip with people discovering laptop with sunflower wallpaper
For the most of our discussion today after meeting with Mr Charles, we searched up different creepy sounds that we can potentially use in our documentary, and since Teresa is doing the narration, we also helped her out in getting her tone to feel more sinister.
I think we did quite a lot for our discussion today. I feel like we definitely got a lot more done than if we were just to text in our Whatsapp group. However it's not like all of us are able to meet up every time for a discussion. Whatever the case, I still believe that we can finish everything by the deadline.
This is a video we found while searching for spooky sound effects:
