Assignment 1: Finding A Research Problem (Week 3)

For our first assignment of the semester, we are looking into a passage called "The Rabbits Who Caused All The Trouble". For this assignment I grouped with Rebecca, Teresa, Wen Yi and Eunice, and our group name is Mikado Avocado.

This is what I took down for my notes:-

Q: In the first line of the passage, it says "within the memory of the youngest child". What does it mean?

A: It probably means that the passage is a figment of a child's imagination. It may be a family situation at home that triggered the youngest child to think this. Since this child is the youngest child, it could be a dispute between them and their siblings. The child could be represented by the rabbits and the siblings by the wolves. The parents could be the other animals, telling the rabbits that they must stand up for themselves and that they will come to their aid whenever needed. Then, a big fight happened between the child and the elder siblings, and the youngest child lost probably because they have to listen to their elders. This may have left the child scarred and when the parents confronted the siblings about it, the siblings might have answered back, saying that they themselves were standing up for themselves.
